What Your Pet Needs to Travel to the UK

To enter the United Kingdom, your pet must comply with Le Shuttle’s pet travel requirements:

• Microchip — ISO 11784/11785 standard
• Rabies vaccination — administered at least 21 days before travel
• Animal Health Certificate (AHC) — issued by an official veterinarian no more than 10 days before travel (or a valid EU Pet Passport issued before 1 January 2021)
• Tapeworm treatment (dogs only) — administered by a vet 1–5 days before arriving in the UK

Dogs, cats, and ferrets are accepted — up to 5 pets per vehicle when travelling with their owner. Please mention your pet when booking so we can prepare the vehicle accordingly.

Planning tip: Visit your vet at least 3 weeks before your travel date to ensure the rabies vaccination and tapeworm treatment timelines are met. We recommend having your Animal Health Certificate ready 2–3 days before departure.
